Hey everyone,
As you might have noticed, or maybe not, after the merger the writing team officially shrank to four regular contributors: Dres, Bodor, Semi and myself. The four of us have been handling the match writing well from a quality perspective, I feel, but I've felt that we could probably get the shows out sooner if we had more writing support.
This is especially the case when something comes up for a writer; in recent weeks, shows have been delayed either because I have been unable to meet my obligations, a member of the team has been unable to meet theirs, or both. Ordinarily I'd chalk it down to a temporary issue, but when it happens week after week, that temporary issue starts to require a more permanent solution.
Which brings me to my point with this post: the UWF is looking to add a new writer to our staff to help better distribute the load and perhaps insure that if someone has to drop a match because something has come up, someone else is there to help pick up the slack.
The obligations of an assistant writer are that you contribute one or two matches a week (usually one) and occasionally provide input when the head writer/booker asks for it.
In the past, we have had prospective writers apply and audition to join the team. I think that would probably be good in this case, too. So for the week leading into the Wargames go-home show, I'd like everyone who is interested to let me know, and then I'll have those who advance to the next stage try out with a match on the go-home show, which will go live on the 26th of March. This will also help to alleviate some of the writing burden on the staff that week as Wargames will be held a few days after the show.
If you're free and interested, let me know.
